Frequently asked questions
Why is Rent / Buy not showing on my product page?
- Confirm the product is linked under Products.
- Confirm the Rental product page block is on your product template (via Storefront → theme editor).
- Hard-refresh the Online Store page (or preview the live theme).
- Check that at least one mode (Rent / Buy / Subscribe) is enabled on the product.
See Storefront rentals.
Why do I see duplicate title, price, or buy box on the product page?
On a linked product, RentalSuite should show only the rental block (theme Product information is hidden automatically). Keep both sections enabled in the theme editor — do not globally hide Product information (that breaks normal products on the same template). Hard-refresh the page. If duplicates persist, confirm the product is linked and the Rental product page block is on the template.
See Storefront rentals.
Where do customers manage subscriptions?
After checkout, customers open Subscriptions from the customer account menu (not Profile). You need Rental subscriptions on the Customer account page plus a Subscriptions menu item—see Storefront → Checkout & customer account blocks.
My storefront is password-protected can setup still be verified?
Yes. The app checks theme editor settings when the live storefront cannot be scanned. Add the Rental product page block and Rental cart guard embed in the theme editor, then confirm in Getting started if prompted.
How does availability work?
You set rental rules, min/max days, blocked dates, and locations. Shoppers pick dates on the product page; RentalSuite validates the range against occupancy, stock, and holds. the same checks used in admin New Booking.
Why can't customers book across blocked dates in a rental range?
Blocked dates are a feature, not a bug. When weekend renting is off, weekends count as blocked. The same rule applies to any blackout or unavailable day you set in rental rules.
If a customer wants March 15–30 but March 20 is blocked in that span, they cannot book one continuous range across that day. They can:
- Rent up to the day before the blocked date (e.g. March 15–19), or
- Rent from the day after onward (e.g. March 21–30).
So a gap like March 10–21 with weekends off is expected: weekend days in the middle break the range, and shoppers must pick segments on either side of those blocked days.

Do Update Availability Rule and Save & Finish do the same thing?
No. They look similar, but they behave differently on the Rule edit screen.
The edit form has separate areas for Availability and Deposit (and other tabs). Each tab has its own Update action:
| Button | What it saves | What happens next |
|---|---|---|
| Update Availability Rule | Only the Availability tab | Saves and keeps you on the edit page |
| Update Deposit | Only the Deposit tab | Saves and keeps you on the edit page |
| Save & Finish | Both tabs (and the rest of the form) | Saves everything and exits the edit page |
Example: if you only change deposit settings and leave availability untouched, click Update Deposit. You do not need Update Availability Rule for that.
RentalSuite also supports auto-save and discard. The manual Update and Save & Finish buttons stay available as a backup if something did not save automatically.

Can I rent and sell the same product?
Yes. A linked product can expose Rent, Buy, and Subscribe. Shared fleet inventory and buy-only serial lanes are supported. See Products & inventory.
